PIN: No Foolproof

CAMBRIDGE - Bank-bank di Britain didakwa cuba menyembunyikan kelemahan nombor pengenalan peribadi (PIN) yang terdapat pada kad kredit dan debit, lapor sebuah akhbar semalam.

Dakwaan itu dibuat selepas seorang saintis Universiti Cambridge, Omar Chaodary membuat pendedahan mengenai kelemahan tersebut dalam tesis sarjana falsafah.

Sistem cip dan PIN yang diperkenalkan pada 2006, bertujuan untuk mengurangkan penipuan kad kerana pencuri tidak dapat menggunakan kad yang dicuri tanpa mengetahui nombor PIN.

Namun, Omar mula mengkaji kelemahan sistem itu selepas ramai pengguna mengadu kad mereka dicuri dan nombor PIN mereka telah digunakan.

Sehingga kini, bank-bank di Britain mendakwa sistem keselamatan cip dan nombor PIN adalah kebal dan sukar untuk ditipu.

Bagaimanapun, Omar dalam penyelidikannya, telah mencipta satu gajet berharga semurah £20 (RM95) yang dapat menipu cip dan mesin pengeluaran wang automatik (ATM) supaya menerima kad kredit dan debit tanpa nombor PIN yang betul.

Peranti bersaiz kotak rokok itu disembunyikan dalam lengan baju semasa ia dilekatkan pada kad.

Apabila kad tersebut dimasukkan ke dalam mesin, ia menggunakan sistem elektronik bagi memastikan kad itu diterima.

Choudary berjaya membeli beberapa buku dan cakera padat (CD) berharga £50 (RM237) di Cambridge dengan menggunakan kad yang dipinjam dan alat yang dicipta itu bagi membuktikan kelemahan tersebut. - Agensi

Day 10: Songs I Listen to

In thinking mode. Hmm.. Whatever that is playing on the radio and media player? In too-lazy-to-think mode. It's not like I categorize songs into different folders of different type of emotions, right? Who does, anyway? Du-uh. Come to think of it, I think some of us does. Admit it! :D 

Sigh. I need new songs. All that I have are like songs from ages ago. I didn't listen to the radio when I was pregnant. If I did, it was only the IKIM channel. Tips for expecting mums: put on a cassette or CD playing recitations of the Quranic verses. In fact, I even invested in a digital Quran. It's not only for your pregnancy duration, but you can also use it when your child has been born. Example, let it play in the room your little one is sleeping, day or night.

Okay.. I can see that I've diverged from the topic. Heee. Anyhow, anyone care to share where do you download songs for free? Up to date songs, ya. I used to download through Limewire. But now, Limewire is facing some kind of lawsuit. So, it's been shut down. Boo hoo me. Hm.. :'(

Day 9: Something I'm Proud Of

I know exactly the thing to write in this entry! :D Yesterday, I was on leave. So, I took care of Aliyah the wholeeee day. Ceh, macam tak biasa pulak hihi. Okay, that's not it. Wait for it. In fact, I didn't have the time to study for my quiz (but managed to watch Salt and also The Sorcerer's Apprentice?) which was supposedly this morning. But, Prof. Mustafizul answered "End of the semester" when I asked when will I be doing the quiz as he was leaving the classroom. Omg. I so hope he was making a joke. Kipeng tried to assure me that Mustafizul was indeed making a joke. Omg.. Boleh percaya ke itu adalah satu joke? (sebab Mustafizul adalah seorang yang agak serius dan tak main-main). Boleh ke Nureen? (-_-") 

Anyhow, I'll ask him again next week (dreading it already). Back to the story. Key point. Wait for it. Wait for it...

I bathed Aliyah all by myself for the first time!! *hidung kembang kuncup* Before this, even during my confinement, my MIL would bathe her. Dia kan pro, saya jenguk tengok je kat tepi pintu tu. My sole job during Aliyah's bath time is to wrap a towel around Aliyah when my MIL is done bathing her. Hoho. Teruk eh? :P And during weekends, it would be Team Pa&Ma that will take over the job! Ya la, her father always mentioned that he missed bathing her. So, that's why I let him bathe Aliyah together with me. *snorts* Don't believe that, ya? I'm lying heee. Well, actually I've been afraid to bathe her from start till end by myself. She's so fragile maa! Wuuu.. But her Papa has managed to do it all by himself for a few times now. Hebatlah awak :D You flew solo, dudeee. Hihi. Dah puji kat blog, nak angpow boleh? Lol.

Conclusion: I flew solo yesterday! Even though it's just one time, but I now have the confidence to do it more! But with one condition. Without the parental (in-laws) observation, please? Because they make me nervous!

Day 8: Goals of this Month and Why

Short term goals for this month? Are you sure you wanna ask that question? Because there are only four days left in this month, you know. Heee.. Anyhow, since it says this month, then I will comply by listing goals for this month and the reasons! Which is, let me say it again, goals for the last four days :D

1. Study for PPC's quiz which is  on this coming Wednesday. (Because it's a quiz?) DONE!

2. Make amendments to physics' Quiz 3 question and submit asap. (Because it's part of my job?) DONE!

3. Restock EBM. Minimum pumping session = twice per working day. (Because I want Aliyah to at least have few bottles of my BM daily?) UNSATISFIED YET!

4. Clean up our room - sweep, mop and wipe activities. (Because it's getting dusty?) DONE!

Hmm, that's it I guess. Kalau letak banyak-banyak, takut tak buat pulak kan? Let's be realistic :)

Huddy adds: My in-laws are asking me to matchmake my bf with their son. Especially, my FIL. He's serious about it. How am I supposed to go about it? Sigh. 

Day 7: Someone who Has a Big Impact on Me

Huddy adds: I used to be scared of children. I didn't know how to interact with them. But now, I'm doing better. All because of Aliyah :)

WHY? OH WHY? 

1. Doraemon has Pintu Suka Hati! Enough said. You know what it's for, right? Hee.. 

2. Doraemon has Buluh Terbang! If I have one, I wouldn't need to walk. But if I have Pintu Suka Hati, why would I need Flying Bamboo kan? Ceh translated it completely into English haha. 

3. Doraemon has Lampu Ajaib! Unsure whether that's the correct name or not. Ala yang boleh macam buat Nobita shrink or enlarge. Ingat ingat? And why do I need it for? Eg: Doraemon once used it to enlarge a dorayaki. Ada faham? :P 

4. Doraemon has that machine which turns cloud into ice blocks! And then they built a house which has so many rooms with a cross-sectional view showing Nobita, Doraemon, Sizuka, Sinyu and Giant in all their own rooms. Eh jap, yang ni ada banyak versions. Confused now.. 

5. Most importantly, Doraemon has Poket Serbaguna! So, even if I don't remember the items he used in the comic books, it doesn't matter! Because I have everything in it! Lol. 

Huddy adds: Memang superhero saya masa kecil, remaja, dan masa di universiti hahaha.. Tapi sekarang ni saya sudah berpaling tadah kepada Batman sebab dia kacak! Heee.. *cair*

Day 5: Somewhere I've Been

I bet you thought I was going to put a picture of some vacation spot. Haa! You thought wrong hehe. I just felt the urge to put the picture below. It was a slow and painful journey, that's for sure. But in the end, the fruit it bore was just so ever sweet. Those who have gone through, whether normal or c-section delivery, would understand what it feels like at the end of that long long day. Those who are on the way, you'll see.. *wink*

Day 4: Habit I Wish I Didn't Have

I'm back! So.. Yeah, I've skipped a few days already huhu. I thought I'd definitely blog on last weekend because it's the weekend, but I assumed wrong. Instead of being free on weekends, I find myself blogging on working days pulak. Weird.

Anyhow, today's entry is about a habit that I wish I didn't have. Well, to be honest, I think I've many habits that I wish I didn't have. But I'll just pick one which is being annoyed easily when I'm tired or sleepy. Or even when I'm having a headache. Once I'm in either of those states, I'll get annoyed. And once I'm annoyed, I go on a scolding and membebel streak. I think the only victim of my annoyance is my husband hee.. Betul tak? Betul tak? Minta ampun ya, bang? (it sounds so funny when I call you bang haha)

Four Cs of Bling

These are some great advice from Michael Vadon, co-founder and chairman of Blue Nile, the online jeweler, for picking out a diamond ring:

Step 1: Start with a budget.

Step 2: Know what color jewelry she favors. Does she wear platinum or gold? This is key in determining the ring's band.

Step 3: When it comes to the famous four "Cs" (color, clarity, cut and carat), start with the cut. "The first thing I tell people is, you've got to go with the best cut diamond," Vadon says. "Whether or not they shine or sparkle is whether or not they're cut properly." So pick cut over carat, even if that means picking a smaller stone.

Step 4: After cut, focus on clarity. "If you're trying to save a little bit, you're gonna try to go with clarity in the 'VS' or 'S1' range," Vadon says.  He adds that no one will know the difference: "To the naked eye, it will look absolutely clean and beautiful."

Day 3: Pictures with Pals

I feel rebellious all of a sudden. So, instead of putting just one picture, I uploaded four! Lol. I won't go on and on about it, I'll just put short captions underneath all of them ya? (short? Ya right..)

This was taken on 27th of June 2009, which is our reception day. All of them in the picture are actually long-time friends. Some since high school and all of the girls are friends of mine since sekolah rendah :) The two guys at both ends are actually the 'hubbies' huhu. Oh, almost forgot to mention. We, the girls, labeled ourselves as the Kicikclanz hee.

Oooh! I like this picture a lot because of the angle and the way we are seated. Look at me. The black bands on the wrist, the 'kasut dollah' (only nina, ana and ekin know of this name hehe) and the mp3. Oh, and my signature black jacket back then. I wore it actually not to look different from the students, you know. But because of I can wake up late for class, get ready etc, wear a tee, put the jacket on and rush to class haha :D

This is very special chewah. Bodek mode on! The girl in black flew all the way from UK/Austria (aku lupa nina!!) just to come and see me and Ana on our convocation day. Terharu ;) Btw, atas langit takde pape masa tu kay..

Okay, last picture! These guys, not all of them I'm friends with. The main purpose of me putting it up here is for the girls in the previous picture. Hehehehehe.. Ah lagi satu, si hitam manis tu saya punya :)

Day 2: Blog's Name

TEMPORARY GETAWAY

It's Day 2 today, so I shall complete the task for Day 2 today! Pun intended there haha. So, anyhow let's go straight to the point, shall we? What's the meaning of my blog's name? To be honest, there's no meaning actually. When I first felt interested to set up a blogging account, I was trying to think of a cool, laidback kind of name for the blog. I thought 'Temporary Getaway' was kind of cool (now, it sounds lame to me though).

So, voila! Pop! Temporary Getaway was born in the blogging world! I think, maybe back then I thought the name reflected the purpose of me blogging. To get away from everyone and everything, and just spill out everyting in my heart and mind. In just that short moments. That's what I thought.

Oh my god, this entry is killing me.. What to do. The name has no special meaning behind it, but I still have to blab on about it as a pre-requisite to Day 3. Oh na na. What's my name? Oh na na. What's my name? What's my name? (Wacky mode on)

Day 1: Fifteen Facts and A Picture

Alright, here goes Day 1! Listed below are fifteen facts about moi.

#1 I have three of my wisdom tooth removed. One was in last year, and the other two within this year. Wisdom sangatlah. (I have no idea why this popped into my head first.)

#2 I just started the last semester of coursework for my masters today. Next semester? Research part.. (-_-")

#3 I started being addicted to online shopping during my confinement period. Previously, it was addiction to shawls, but now I've branched out to clothings too hehe.

#4 I hate, hate and hate driving behind slow drivers in the fast lane.

#5 If I had the money, I'd buy a Mazda hatchback! Weee suke :D

#6 I hate folding clothes.

#7 I hate ironing clothes too.

#8 My current favourite series is Grey's Anatomy. Short form GA.

#9 I am teaching Physics 2 at IIUM's Centre for Foundation Studies. Padahal, dulu main-main masa Bro. Shahrul ngan Bro. Taifunisyam ajar haha.

#10 I'd prefer wearing black jubahs or abayas to baju kurung because it's so trouble-free. No need to iron them and I can wear them for several times before dumping them into the washing machine.

#11 I wish the construction of our house could be completed earlier so that we can move in and stuff it with furnitures and all those homey things.

#12 I like Kuih Tutu. Unfortunately both of the small shops in Midvalley and OU which were selling it have closed.. :( Anyone knows where I can find them?

#13 I think ASB is not savings-friendly. Like it's not encouraging us to put our savings there. Why? If I'm not mistaken, the only way we can bank in our savings into ASB is through the counter. No online or ATM transfer. Sungguh menyusahkan!

#14 Sometimes I miss being sinlge. Don't get me wrong, I don't miss those dating and coupling days. What I miss is being around my family. It's so different than before. I feel like I'm the last to know on every single thing happening in my house.

#15 I love to look at my baby girl. Adorable and sangat kelakar hehe.
